What would a logical person accept as proof of God. Would he require God Almighty to appear before him in order to acknowledge His existence. Would he apply this same criteria to everything else in life.

For example, would he not believe in the President of the United States unless he saw him in the flesh. He might counter that he has seen his photograph, but this does not meet the original criteria. Such photos are evidence based upon other evidence. That is, confidence in the news media and photography.

And what of George Washington of whom we have no original photographs. To believe in him requires that we depend on other evidence, primarily written documents by other men.

In all practicality and fairness then, let us apply the same criteria to the proofs of God that we would to anything else in life…namely evidence that demands our belief and places upon us a responsibility.

CREATION VS EVOLUTION

Either man was created by GOD with a purpose and a destiny, as the Bible declares, or he is a multifaceted complex organism accidentally and with no reason or purpose formed from non-living nothing.

If the latter is true, our innermost being is revolted at the loss. In addition, self gratification is the only value to physical life so “eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow we die!” On the other hand, if creation is our origin, how our being rejoices with hope and life takes on real meaning beyond the animal senses. We now have a purpose for living that gives our very existence real value. Let’s examine the FACTS…

ENTROPY1(second law of thermodynamics) Everything in the universe is in a state of progressive decay or disorder . slowing down and burning out. If evolution were true, somewhere in the universe something would be evolving to a higher order. But such is not the case. Obviously this fact is evidence that the universe had a beginning of higher order, much like a ticking clock requires a watch-maker who not only made it but wound it.

When a broken leg or arm is placed into a cast to mend, doctors may recommend exercise of the restricted muscles. At best, when the cast is removed there is a weakness in the less active muscles. They have begun to deteriorate or atrophy. This is a scientific fact!

Many of the body’s organs would have no function until they are fully developed . i.e. eyes, ears, heart, lungs, etc. Likewise, this is true of the special organs and features of animals, like wings, stingers, etc.

Until these organs, or features, are fully developed and functional they cannot be used. If they are not being used they are deteriorating due to atrophy and therefore cannot be developing! Here again is evidence pointing toward creation.

SPECIAL CREATION2

The little Bombardier beetle3 is only about 1/2 inch long and lives in the temperate zone all around the world. He is a marvelous illustration of special creation which speaks of a Creator. This beetle is equipped with combustion chambers in which he mixes chemicals that heat to 212 degrees and explode in the direction of an enemy. In order for this amazing weaponry to work, he first has twin storage chambers for the two chemicals, then twin combustion tubes where these chemicals are combined with two enzymes. There are valves on the combustion chambers so the beetle can release the gasses at just the right time as he swivels them toward his enemy. This is an extremely complex apparatus that could not and would not have simply evolved over thousands of years of uselessness, until it was all suddenly there. And, even if this were possible, who taught the first little beetle how to use it.

THE MISSING LINKS

If evolution (the slow process of natural selection and the transmutation of one animal species into another) were true, forms of transitional life would be easily found. Many years have passed since Darwin purported his now famous theory of evolution and no evidence of transitional forms has ever been found!4

This is amazing because we should not be looking for a missing link, but for thousands or perhaps millions of links in all forms of plant and animal life. We should literally be tripping over them. We should have no need to search them out in crevices of rocks. They should be all around us, alive and in fossil form. Where are the fossils of stubby winged flies, birds and bats who could not fly because their wings had not developed sufficiently as yet, but they were on their way. Where are the 3, 4, and 6-eyed creatures with whom the great, but ignorant, god of evolution was experimenting until it discovered 2 were best. Likewise the 1, 3 and 4-eared bunnies, the 1-legged, 3-armed baboon… and the list would go on into eternity if evolution were true. And, this is not even considering the multitudes of transitional forms like half reptile and half bird, etc.

STERILITY OF HYBRIDS5

A true hybrid is a cross between individuals of distinct species. Where gestation is similar, it is possible artificially to cross individuals of distinct species. In nature, this all but never happens. However, naturally or artificially, the offspring of such crosses are sterile!
